JAKE is 18 MONTHS OLD!!

Today is Jake's 18 month mark! He weighed in today at 27 lbs. 2 oz. and is 33 inches long! He's in the 67th percentile for weight and the 72nd percentile for height.

Jake is so much fun and we all LOVE him like crazy! Today is the day when we are saying BUH-BYE to his pacifier! We lost it at the store, and it was the only one we had left. So... I guess it's a good time to lose it for good! Wish us luck!!

FUN At The CABIN

Last weekend, we drove to Snowflake to spend some time at the cabin with Rich, Marla, and Alayna. We really had a great time! Luke and Ty were excited that Mommy was going this time. I hadn't been to Snowflake since Thanksgiving. The boys had gone up a couple of times with Grandma and Grandpa, but I usually stay behind to rest. I am glad I went this time. It was good for me to watch the kids having fun and to spend some down-time with our family.

Jake LOVED being able to explore this time with his brothers. He has grown up a lot since the last time we were there, so he was more fun and easier to deal with. He slept pretty good there, too!

Ty and Luke were excited to show me their "houses" they made in the trees. They would point out to me where the family room, bathroom, etc. was. Those two always play so well outside...whether it's exploring or frisbee...they are always in heaven!

We all had a great time sitting around the firepit, roasting marshmallows, and singing campfire songs! We are so grateful that Rich and Marla have provided us all a place where we can have fun and make life-long memories with our family. We are SUPER excited for Matt and Natalie to come down in July with their kids so we can all be together at the cabin. Good times!

Too Funny

I just had to post this one because I don't want to forget it!

Last night, Curt and the two older boys were in the shower. Luke said..."Man, Dad, you stink!" Curt asked what he smelled like. Luke's reply was, without hesitation, "The bathroom at Burger King."

From the Mouths of Babes...

This morning I had a CD playing that consisted of Primary songs and some church hymns. I like to play music like this periodically through the week because it brings a calmness to our otherwise chaotic house. It helps me to be in a better mood, no doubt. And you know what they say...if momma ain't happpy...ain't nobody happy!

Ty had just come in from playing in the backyard and, hearing the music, said...

TY: "Are we going to chruch today?"

MOM: "No. Today is Friday, but we can listen to church music on other days. Not just on Sunday."

TY: (as he's storming off towards the back door) "THIS SONG MAKES ME FRUSTRATED!!"

MOM: (taking a minute to decipher what he said) "Oh. Well, it was one of Noma's favorite songs."

TY: "WELL. I DON'T WIKE IT!"

The kids and I were at the bus stop this morning, waiting for the bus to come. Luke and our little neighbor boy were standing on the sidewalk next to where I had the van parked. Ty, Jake, and I were sitting in the car with the windows down. A little girl (who is in Luke's primary class) walked over to where we were and started chatting with us.

I heard Luke whisper to her..."My mom doesn't have any hair."

The little girl's eyes lit up and she said..."YOU DON'T???"

So I started explaining to her...

Thanks, Luke. My secret is out.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Luke's Room

Luke's room is getting closer to being finished! He's been trying really hard to be patient and to not be sad that his room isn't done yet. Both of the boys have had fun helping their daddy work on it. Hopefully, by the end of this week, I'll be posting pictures of it finished!

I'm not sure who's more excited to be doing this room in football (AZ Cardinals) decor...Luke...or his dad!

Ride 'Em Cowboy!

THANKS to A LOT of help from Grandpa Holbrook, and Grandma Debbie's great sewing skills, the boys' bedroom is finally finished!!! I am so happy with how it turned out and Ty thinks it's pretty cool, too! Ty is really into horses right now, and he's already decided which cowboy on the wallpaper border is him.
Curt built the shelf on the wall, and the wooden bed frame for Ty's bed...all with left over wood from his job site. Gotta love that! When the time comes for Jake to move out of the crib and into a big bed, Curt will make a matching bed frame for him, too.

Ty

Every time Ty says the prayer, whether it's before we eat or at bedtime, he always says, "Bless that we can go to Sea World and that I can go to Kannon's house (his little friend). Bless Mommy to feel better...". It's VERY cute!!

Luke

Yesterday Luke said (as he was hugging me), "Mom, you're the strongest out of anyone. You're the strongest woman I know".

It was so sweet for him to say that because he has watched me go through so much...recovery from surgery, chemo, etc. I am so proud of him and for his ability to understand so much at such a young age. I hope he's still a sweet compassionate boy even when he's all grown up. As his mom, that would make me happy beyond description.
