Luke had his first track meet last Saturday! We didn't enroll him in Running Club at his school until two months ago, so this was the final meet for the year. Curt and Ty sat in the bleachers to watch Luke and to cheer him on. Jake and I stayed home and waited for my dad and Debbie to arrive. Curt said that Luke came in dead last, but was also the youngest kid in his group so we weren't surprised. We are SO VERY proud of Luke and even though he came in last place, he was a trooper!! This is such an accomplishment for him because he has issues with not winning or being first. Running is something Luke really does enjoy and we look forward to next year!
Yay, Luke!

Crazy Jake
The other day, after I had pulled Jake out of the tub, dried him off, put on clean jammies, and let him brush his teeth.....I turned my back for about 2 seconds and THIS is what I found! Stinker.
Clapping his hands because he thinks he's Soooo funny!

Ty's Field Trip to the Fire Station
Ty and Mom had a fun time at the fire station on Monday! As soon as we arrived, the fire fighters got a call and had to leave. It was fun to see them rush out and pull away with their sirens blazing. Luckily, it wasn't anything major and they were able to come back after about 15 or 20 minutes. Ty's preschool teacher's husband is stationed there (he's the one pictured below). When the tour was over and we were getting back into our car, they got another call and took off again! They waved to all the kids as they were driving away. What a fun day for Ty!

Ty's Leaf Boats

Ty was playing out in the backyard the other day and had this grand idea. He showed me the leaves he had picked (from my canna lily plants...grr!) and then asked if he could put them in water to see if they would float like a boat. Huh? Where in the world did you get this idea??, I wondered. But, with it being Ty, I was not surprised. This kid has the craziest immagination, as I'm sure I've said before. I didn't really want him to be playing in the sink in the bathroom, so I told him we could see if the leaves float when he took a bath later that night. He was happy with that answer, and probably surprised that I actually said "OK". Posted by Curt, Charlene, Luke, Ty, Jake and Chase at 2:24 PM 1 comment(s)

JAKE is 18 MONTHS OLD!!

Today is Jake's 18 month mark! He weighed in today at 27 lbs. 2 oz. and is 33 inches long! He's in the 67th percentile for weight and the 72nd percentile for height. Jake is so much fun and we all LOVE him like crazy! Today is the day when we are saying BUH-BYE to his pacifier! We lost it at the store, and it was the only one we had left. So... I guess it's a good time to lose it for good! Wish us luck!!

FUN At The CABIN
Last weekend, we drove to Snowflake to spend some time at the cabin with Rich, Marla, and Alayna. We really had a great time! Luke and Ty were excited that Mommy was going this time. I hadn't been to Snowflake since Thanksgiving. The boys had gone up a couple of times with Grandma and Grandpa, but I usually stay behind to rest. I am glad I went this time. It was good for me to watch the kids having fun and to spend some down-time with our family.
Jake LOVED being able to explore this time with his brothers. He has grown up a lot since the last time we were there, so he was more fun and easier to deal with. He slept pretty good there, too!
Ty and Luke were excited to show me their "houses" they made in the trees. They would point out to me where the family room, bathroom, etc. was. Those two always play so well outside...whether it's exploring or frisbee...they are always in heaven!
We all had a great time sitting around the firepit, roasting marshmallows, and singing campfire songs! We are so grateful that Rich and Marla have provided us all a place where we can have fun and make life-long memories with our family. We are SUPER excited for Matt and Natalie to come down in July with their kids so we can all be together at the cabin. Good times!
