This morning Luke had crawled into bed with me while the other boys were still asleep. (Curt is in Snowflake at the cabin.) Luke snuggled right up to me and said...
"Do you know what? You're the best mom ever."
Then he says...
"And do you know what else? I'm your number one fan!"
Awwww!!!

Kindergarten Program and Preschool Graduation
Grandma Holbrook, Jake, Ty, and I went to the Kindergarten Spring Program at Luke's school a couple of weeks ago. It was a MAD HOUSE! Grandma was able to get Luke's attention before the program started and waved to him. He apparently wasn't able to spot me, and as you can see below, was starting to get a bit "concerned" that Mommy wasn't there. It made me sad that he went through the whole program thinking that I didn't end up going...when I told him I would be there.
Luke and his class did an awesome job singing "Sugar Bee" and it was cute to watch him do the actions, too! I was so proud of him! After it was over, we waited by Luke's classroom for his class to get back. When his teacher saw me she turned around and said, "Luke! Look! Your mom is here!". He obviously told her at the end of the program that I wasn't there. Awww. That made me sad.

Ty "graduated" from his preschool last week. He still has another full year of preschool before he starts Kindergarten, but it was fun to celebrate his year of learning and growing. Grandma Holbrook came with us, as well as Jake. Ty has had so much fun with his teacher Ms. Dieu. She started getting choked up when talking about the kids and saying how much fun they've been...and how much she'll miss them. It made me get all emotional, too. As a parent, it is so touching when you know that someone else genuinely loves your child. Especially at a time like this...when my boys have been faced with some pretty difficult things.Posted by Curt, Charlene, Luke, Ty, Jake and Chase at 1:23 PM 2 comment(s)

Jake and His Grandma Debbie
My dad and Debbie came to visit for a few days and as soon as they got to our house, Debbie picked Jake up and this is what he did...layed his head down on her shoulder for a few minutes and just went totally limp. It was the cutest thing! He missed her for sure! They became buddies while she was here helping us a few weeks ago.

Luke's First Track Meet
Luke had his first track meet last Saturday! We didn't enroll him in Running Club at his school until two months ago, so this was the final meet for the year. Curt and Ty sat in the bleachers to watch Luke and to cheer him on. Jake and I stayed home and waited for my dad and Debbie to arrive. Curt said that Luke came in dead last, but was also the youngest kid in his group so we weren't surprised. We are SO VERY proud of Luke and even though he came in last place, he was a trooper!! This is such an accomplishment for him because he has issues with not winning or being first. Running is something Luke really does enjoy and we look forward to next year!
Yay, Luke!

Crazy Jake
The other day, after I had pulled Jake out of the tub, dried him off, put on clean jammies, and let him brush his teeth.....I turned my back for about 2 seconds and THIS is what I found! Stinker.
Clapping his hands because he thinks he's Soooo funny!

Ty's Field Trip to the Fire Station
Ty and Mom had a fun time at the fire station on Monday! As soon as we arrived, the fire fighters got a call and had to leave. It was fun to see them rush out and pull away with their sirens blazing. Luckily, it wasn't anything major and they were able to come back after about 15 or 20 minutes. Ty's preschool teacher's husband is stationed there (he's the one pictured below). When the tour was over and we were getting back into our car, they got another call and took off again! They waved to all the kids as they were driving away. What a fun day for Ty!

Ty's Leaf Boats

Ty was playing out in the backyard the other day and had this grand idea. He showed me the leaves he had picked (from my canna lily plants...grr!) and then asked if he could put them in water to see if they would float like a boat. Huh? Where in the world did you get this idea??, I wondered. But, with it being Ty, I was not surprised. This kid has the craziest immagination, as I'm sure I've said before. I didn't really want him to be playing in the sink in the bathroom, so I told him we could see if the leaves float when he took a bath later that night. He was happy with that answer, and probably surprised that I actually said "OK". Posted by Curt, Charlene, Luke, Ty, Jake and Chase at 2:24 PM 1 comment(s)
