Jake and His Grandma Debbie

My dad and Debbie came to visit for a few days and as soon as they got to our house, Debbie picked Jake up and this is what he did...layed his head down on her shoulder for a few minutes and just went totally limp. It was the cutest thing! He missed her for sure! They became buddies while she was here helping us a few weeks ago.

Luke's First Track Meet

Luke had his first track meet last Saturday! We didn't enroll him in Running Club at his school until two months ago, so this was the final meet for the year. Curt and Ty sat in the bleachers to watch Luke and to cheer him on. Jake and I stayed home and waited for my dad and Debbie to arrive. Curt said that Luke came in dead last, but was also the youngest kid in his group so we weren't surprised. We are SO VERY proud of Luke and even though he came in last place, he was a trooper!! This is such an accomplishment for him because he has issues with not winning or being first. Running is something Luke really does enjoy and we look forward to next year!
Yay, Luke!

NOT a big fan of the gun to start the race. Just like his momma!!

Crazy Jake

The other day, after I had pulled Jake out of the tub, dried him off, put on clean jammies, and let him brush his teeth.....I turned my back for about 2 seconds and THIS is what I found! Stinker.

Clapping his hands because he thinks he's Soooo funny!

I don't want to just sit in the tub...I want to lay down and relax in it.

Ty's Field Trip to the Fire Station

Ty and Mom had a fun time at the fire station on Monday! As soon as we arrived, the fire fighters got a call and had to leave. It was fun to see them rush out and pull away with their sirens blazing. Luckily, it wasn't anything major and they were able to come back after about 15 or 20 minutes. Ty's preschool teacher's husband is stationed there (he's the one pictured below). When the tour was over and we were getting back into our car, they got another call and took off again! They waved to all the kids as they were driving away. What a fun day for Ty!

Ty's Leaf Boats

Ty was playing out in the backyard the other day and had this grand idea. He showed me the leaves he had picked (from my canna lily plants...grr!) and then asked if he could put them in water to see if they would float like a boat. Huh? Where in the world did you get this idea??, I wondered. But, with it being Ty, I was not surprised. This kid has the craziest immagination, as I'm sure I've said before. I didn't really want him to be playing in the sink in the bathroom, so I told him we could see if the leaves float when he took a bath later that night. He was happy with that answer, and probably surprised that I actually said "OK".

So...it turns out...they DO float and all 3 boys had fun playing with those leaves during their bath time that night...and the night after that.

Nutty kids.

DRUM ROLL, Please!

Luke's room is finished, except for the picture above that I made and now need to hang on the wall. I will post another picture once it's hung.
Curt did an awesome job on this room and Grandma Debbie sewed those cool curtains! Luke LOVES his room. It's been good for him to have his own space again.

At the Doctor's Today

JAKE is 18 MONTHS OLD!!

Today is Jake's 18 month mark! He weighed in today at 27 lbs. 2 oz. and is 33 inches long! He's in the 67th percentile for weight and the 72nd percentile for height.

Jake is so much fun and we all LOVE him like crazy! Today is the day when we are saying BUH-BYE to his pacifier! We lost it at the store, and it was the only one we had left. So... I guess it's a good time to lose it for good! Wish us luck!!
