April Fun at the Cabin

We drove to the cabin the 1st weekend in April. It was just the 5 of us this time and we had so much fun! We watched General Conference while we were there and it was great as usual.

Pinewood Derby 2011

This year Curt wanted to make 2 cars for the Pinewood Derby. We're so glad he did because Luke's friend from school ("D") ended up joining Scouts and participating in the Derby, too. D was able to use the extra car!

The boys had a fun time, as usual, and we had a great time watching their excitement!

Mommy and Jake

Sometimes Jake and I get bored during the day when Luke and Ty are at school. We get the giggles when we take pictures of the two of us to pass the time!

Jake requested a picture showing our sad faces :)

February Fun

These boys LOVE to draw and do any type of craft. One day when they were drawing, they discovered that some of the markers were scented. Although they didn't know it yet, they each had marker on their noses from sniffing the markers! I thought it was funny :)

Jake's is the most noticeable! Hahaha

Jake got a hold of my shoes and my camera...taking a self portrait of his foot!
Ty lost his 3rd tooth!! Daddy made a disguise for the pliers and named him Larry. So funny!

January Visitors!

In January, my sister Christie and brother Marcus came out to visit us! Christie participated in the PF Chang's half marathon and we got to cheer her on (sort of). We wish they could come visit us more often. The boys LOVE it when they visit!

Marcus spoiled the boys with ice cream and gummy worms on his last night in AZ. He might have spoiled me, too with some cinnamon bears :)

Jake wanted Marcus to lay on the floor with him and eat their cereal together. Cute!

Hiking at San Tan Mtn Regional Park

On Saturday morning, after breakfast, we decided to take the kids hiking (something we've never really done as a family in AZ). The closest place was San Tan Mtn Park...only about 10 minutes from our house. The kids were excited because they also got to see some snakes, lizards, a tarantula, and a scorpion that were on display inside the visitor's center. The guy took one of the snakes out for us to "pet", but only Jake, Daddy, and Mommy were interested in touching it! We had a fun time together.

The scenery is quite a bit different here, compared to hiking in UT...

...but fun was had by all, none the less!

I love the fact that our boys get to experience so many different elements of nature...having lived in both UT and AZ. I was 20 years old when I saw my first cactus...and my first palm tree, come to think of it!

Indoor Camping

I love Friday's and we usually try to do something fun with the kids on those nights. Typically, it consists of a movie from Redbox and popcorn, but last Friday Curt and I thought the boys would have fun sleeping in the tent in their bedroom.

The boys were so excited to go to bed that night. I wish I could say that they were perfect little angels and all fell asleep within 5 minutes...but at least they were having a good time. I love how these boys are all best friends...even though the relationship is "love/hate" some times.

Some of Ty's favorite Webkinz and his Puffle all snuggled into their makeshift bed that he makes most nights before bed...

He has these guys on either side of his pillow. Gotta love that kid!
