Thanksgiving Point

Fun at the museum with the cousins!

Easter 2010

Here are the kids at Great Grandma May's house making an Easter craft with the cousins! We were glad to be able to see Aunt Stacey and 4 of her kids who came from WY!

The boys always have fun at Grandma and Grandpa Holbrook's UT townhouse. After our big brunch, all of the grandkids played with bubbles with the g-parents.
And since Easter was on General Conference weekend, we had some company! Uncle Marcus, Aunt Kathy, and cousins Maya, Craig, and Lani stayed with us and were able to go to some sessions at the Conference Center. It was fun having them here and we hope they come back to visit soon!

Pinewood Derby March 2010

This was Luke's first Pinewood Derby and I think he had a great experience! Curt was working up in UT and flew down for about 48hours one weekend to help Luke with his car. Grandpa and Grandma Holbrook went to the derby with us and Luke was able to talk to his daddy on the phone during the race. His car won the "Most Innovative" award and Luke was also chosen as the winner of the "Good Sportsmanship Award"!!

The Big Move

On Thursday, March 11th, we started loading up the moving truck. We had quite a few men from our ward helping. Also some of Curt's scouts came to help and to say good bye. Grandma Holbrook took Jake home with her and kept him until Monday the 15th. We were able to get a lot done without having a 3 year-old under foot! We rolled out of Gilbert around 6:15am on Friday. Luke and Ty were both riding in the truck with Curt. I had the cats in the van with me. The cats ended up being great travelers, but we had a rough start :) The drive was not bad at all and we ended up making it to our place in Draper, UT in about 12 hours and 45min. We slept on an air matress and the boys slept in their sleeping bags that night. Bright and early the next morning we were starting to unload. Matt (Curt's brother) came to help and brought some YUMMY muffins that Natalie had just pulled out of the oven! Matt and Natalie live just down the road from us and we are excited to live close by. Three other guys from Matt's ward came to help, as well as Curt's cousin Justin. The snow started coming down a few minutes after the guys had finished unloading. Perfect timing!

We're having fun getting all settled into our new place. The boys are loving the snow! I'm actually surprised that I'm not freezing my rear off. The weather has been tolerable and we are living in a beautiful spot on the mountain. We've already seen a bunch of deer by our house and are looking forward to Spring/Summer so we can hike the trails near by.

We were able to have dinner at Curt's grandma's house on Sunday afternoon. It will be fun to live closer to her and Teresa! The boys get a kick out of them (so do I)! Luke and Ty started school on St. Patty's Day. They were excited to ride the bus....it was Ty's first time! They both were happy and excited when I picked them up from the bus stop after school. We're so happy they are adjusting well. It's so fun for them to be in the same school as their cousins! The boys get to sit by Lincoln on the bus :)

But MOST of all, we are SO HAPPY to have our little family under one roof again!! We are grateful for Curt's job and know that living here in UT, for however long it may end up being, will be a great adventure for our family.
